I think it is essential for anyone willing to face the difficulty of living seriously in the world to be able to distinguish between reality and the actualities in which we are forced to live trivial lives by the common philistinism which rules civilization in all its forms.
Almost everyone I hear is talking about reality in the plural, this reality and that reality, but there can be only one, just as there is only one universe – if there were two it would not be a universe but a duo-verse – hello!
Reality is absolute and is transcendent to these actualities and the only vehicle which can transport the existing individual human being into reality is a belief that it is. Without faith in the absolute and its attributes, morality, justice and peace among others, it is impossible to live a serious life.
